Lordship of Hawk's Perch
Arrow Lord
House Dermond
Marcus Dermond III is the current Lord Paramount of Gardoria and he rules of his seat of Blackwood. He is known as an honorable man but tends to stay neutral during wars until provoked. Being neutral does not mean he is weak, the Dermonds are known for their revenge of those who wrong them.
History
Marcus was born to Ethan Dermond and Jana Ulvert on a dark night within the castle of Blackwood. The nurses tending to the birth held up a boy, with brown eyes and whose hair as black as raven's feathers. Upon looking at his son, Ethan knew that Marcus would grow to accomplish great things.
Later Years
As the years went on Marcus grew into a tall man with his black hair flowing down his back. He is well spoken and intelligent, so much so that he will usually keep his house out of any war unless they are attacked. His fighting skill is reknowned in all Gardoria, his talent with a bow is near legendary status. Some say he can shoot a coin that is tossed into the air. He is agile for a man of his stature, albeit he is not the tallest considering Gardorian men tend to be more stout. Though this comes to his advantage, as great strength is needed to use his bow.
Reactions to the 346 AC Rebellion
Marcus refused to join the war to depose the crazed Dragomyr King, Aegor Dragomyr IV. Mostly due to the fact that the Dragomyrs tended to ignore House Dermond as it's vassals. So when arms were taken up and flags were raised, House Dermond were one of the only houses that stayed completely neutral and cared not for any war.
When the war ended, barely any Gardorian was harmed due to not being involved. Some say Marcus is a genius for his neutrality, other believe him a fool. No matter the opinion given, he did not want flame and blood to be brought into his forest.
