House Dragomyr is a former Great House that originated in the Drakonian Peninsula. They began their reign thousands of years ago in the Drakonian Peninsula, when they began the construction the shining city of Drakonia. They were deposed and put to exile by a union of Houses, most notably Karthmere and Grimolt, among other lesser Houses. Since then, House Karthmere and Grimolt have been at odds to take their place on the Seat of Embers. House Dragomyr was a powerful Great House dating back over 7 millenia ago. Their line was believed to be first created sometime in the Age of Legends by the legendary Aegor I the Strong; although it is said they go back farther. Legend states that Aegor I was the first man to have found and hatched dragon eggs and was responsible for building and creating the Kingdom of Drakonia. Drakonian myth states he built the city with his hands and molded it together with Dragonfire. He began his reign as the first Dragonking and conquested the entirety of the Drakonian Peninsula, forcing other nobility to bend the knee.

Later in his reign, he became an avid Dragon breeder and gave Dragon eggs to his wife and children. They would later on use them as mounts and ride them into battle. Aegor had the Dragomyr coat of arms emblazoned with a black Dragon in honor of this.

  +
Draegon II Dragomárus (100 - 229 AC), sixth King of Andoras 41 year reign
During his reign, a courier arrived with news of wild Dragons roosting on the same mountain he had found the Dragon eggs. He climbed onto the back of Gavarex, his oldest Dragon and departed, but never returned. The Drakonian throne was usurped shortly afterward by House Varalys and Aegor's heirs most likely went into hiding and regained themselves but not much else is known of their status.

1st Era
House Varalys ruled the throne of Drakonia throughout the first era. However, House Dragomyr was not extinct. Aegor II Dragomyr still lived and was a descendant of Aegor I's oldest son, Rhaedor I Dragomyr, who had perished of old age before the 1st era started. Aegor II began in Ceryne, one of the powerful city-states of Doras Edrossi. It is said he had acquired enough gold from his deceased father, that he managed to purchase himself his own homestead and began to gain the trust of soldiers who still held his House in high regard or mercenaries who were swayed with gold.

  +
Numaerys I Dragomárus, seventh King of Andoras
Over the span of about five years, he had managed to gain an army of twenty-five thousand strong and about three-thousand sellswords were hired. His sums were low, from maintaining his army and paying the mercenaries, but he would march upon Drakonia with his army and launch his conquest to reclaim his city. House Varalys had grown powerful in such short time, gaining the respect of their vassals and lords all around the peninsula.

  +
Maregor III Dragomárus, eighth King of Andoras
King Taemond Varalys, known as the Dragonless, noted the oncoming armies and raised levies and hired mercenaries and held the fortification known as Aegor's Wall. The two armies clashed and both sides lost equal amounts, retreating back to their holdings. Aegor's morale had waned and many of his men had suggested taking leave, to much of Aegor's dismay. He offered more gold in attempts to keep them swayed and they decided to stay by his side. He recruited more soldiers as he returned to Ceryne and increased his numbers, determined on striking once more.

  +
Caius I Dragomárus, ninth King of Andoras
In the next month, he would launch against King Taemond once more and in much larger numbers. He had managed to obtain and secure Aegor's wall and used it to his advantage in the battles to come. The skirmishes that followed were bloody and lasted for months at a time. Aegor was noted to have been inspirational and lead his men forward, even though House Varalys outnumbered them 5 to 1 still.

Numaerys II Dragomárus, tenth King of Andoras
A final confrontation followed next, on a stormy evening. Aegor's morale had not waned but his men had. It seemed to have been hopeless for some but Aegor stood strong. He decided to lead a final push against the very walls of Drakonia itself. They had managed to gather along the walls and use ladders to ascend to the top of the walls to begin to thin out ranks. Aegor was noted to be the first man to climb the ladders.

Draegon III Dragomárus, eleventh King of Andoras
It was a long and muddy siege and Aegor's men began taking heavy casualites. Aegor had lost a lot of his men far into the siege but still charged forward, dedicated to kill Taemond. It came to a close however, as several archers pelted Aegor with arrows. Even so, he still ordered what was left of his men to follow him. Aegor kept fighting until he died from blood loss. His heirs still lived on Ceryne and he was remembered as Aegor the Defiant.

House Dragomárus is a Great House of High Drakonian descent who once ruled the Kingdom of Andoras. Their reign lasted nearly four centuries, approximately fifteen Dragomári monarchs sat on the Ember Throne throughout; fourteen males and one female. The Dragomárus dynasty was later deposed and nearly destroyed following the 346 AC Rebellion and the death of King Aeganar the Fourth.

They are also famed for the construction of Drakonia and bringing about the creation of the Drakonian Empire, a civilization that greatly influenced the advancement of culture, language, writing, law and government.

The sigil of the Dragomárus dynasty is a black dragon in flight upon a crimson field; a few members of the family were known to take their own variant of the sigil as their personal coat of arms.
