The Lord Paramount Rolland Brackwater is the current reigning Lord Paramount of the Wetlands and head of the Great House Brackwater. This House has been serving the realm by guarding the people of monstrosities that lay behind the wall for generations. As one of the six Great Houses, the Brackwaters are given great respect for their vigilance and selflessness in protecting the realm.

History

House of Brackwater was it's own kingdom before the Drakonians landed on Andoras. They were a small however cunning house. When the first Drakonians landed on the new lands to settle, the Brackwaters were the first to actually bend the knee without conflict, as they are very intelligent and knew they would lose. After submitting to their new lieges and giving up their title of a kingdom, the Drakonians decided to allow the Brackwaters to retain the title of Lord and Lady Paramounts and continue to rule their lands only if they remain to swear fealty. However, many houses and minor lordships weren't so lucky but for sparing their people and lands, the Brackwaters owe their respect and loyalty to the Drakonians and still do to this very day.

Life after the conquest for the people of the Wetlands was peaceful and harvests bountiful under their new lieges. Many houses mistrusted and outright hated the Drakonians, however the Lord Paramount Rodrik Brackwater along with his family loved the Drakonians, most of the other Wetlanders did aswell. Out of all the Drakonian nobility, House Dragomyr earned the respect and adoration of Rodrik and his people, this reverence for House Dragomyr lead them to swear complete loyalty. Many of the other houses saw house Brackwater as nothing more then boot-kissers, yet their mouths were quickly silenced. As time went on, house Brackwater will forever be loyal to house Dragomyr.

Civil War

In the year of 335AC the Houses of Karthmere, Grimolt and Stone saw the tyrannical status of Aegor the IV and his war-hungry nature harmful to their houses and decided to take up arms against their liege. Many months had passed during this time, battles were fought, lost, and won. However, even with the combined forces of house Dragomyr, Brackwater, and Stenwulf it was not enough to fight back the rebels. Rolland, though he fought beside his king in the sacking of Dragonspire, failed to protect Aegor. He watched as his king, the very man he and his family swore to protect, die in battle. In a fit of rage, Rolland spots a Karthmere soldier attempting to murder women and children in the streets. With a swing of his sword, the mans tendon is sliced. Rolland violently heaved the man into a lit forge and closed the gate behind it, watching the man roast in his own armor. Sadly, the civil war was lost. The Dragomyrs either killed and exiled and the reign of the Dragomyrs were halted by traitors of the realm.

After the Civil War

The years following after the war took it's toll on House Brackwater. They had no liege, they had failed their duty given to them centuries before. Rolland blamed himself for the death and exile of his beloved liege and the royal family. Rolland knew not how many Dragomyrs survived or if they were even still around but if they were, he made himself and his whole house an oath to never lose hope.
